There is no certainly genuine picture of Anne Conway. A painting by Van Hoogstraten of a large house-interior contains, as a central but small episode, the full-length figure of a graceful woman reading a letter; the evidence that the model for this was Lady Conway is strong though inconclusive. Anyway too little is shown of her face for the picture to be informative about her.
