Search Early Modern Texts
For any word or group of words or phrase that interests you, use this search engine to find out which of the texts contain it at least once. (For a phrase, enclose it in double-quotation-marks.) To find every occurrence of a word or phrase within a given text, open the text and then use the Adobe search tool.
Sometimes this search engine presents a result not by showing the searched-for word in its context but by showing the first two lines of the file. Those lines are the same in all the files, so the search engine presents only one such item and invites you to click to get the rest. In most cases that is worth doing.
